Crystal Glover
Associate Professor, Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center, Rush Medical College
Dr. Crystal M. Glover is an applied social psychologist and mixed methodologist at the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (and) Neurological Sciences in Rush Medical College. She also leads the Outreach, Recruitment, and Engagement (ORE) Core at the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Dr. Glover’s areas of interest include health equity and health disparities; structural and psychosocial determinants of aging including markers of socioeconomic status, neighborhood characteristics and trajectories, and psychological wellbeing; social cognitive processes such as
attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions; and decision making associated with complex, nuanced, and sensitive topics in older age. Her work has led to the design, development, and implementation of engagement approaches, educational materials, and intervention strategies. She focuses her research and related efforts on examining and facilitating healthy aging across all groups with a special concentration on collaboration with communities that have been inequitably included and traditionally understudied in aging research. Dr. Glover has widely published her peer-reviewed work in several high-impact scientific journals, including Alzheimer’s & Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association, CHEST, and Human Genetics. Dr. Glover is the Editor-in-Chief of Alzheimer’s &; Dementia: Behavior &; Socioeconomics of Aging (BSEA), the newest and fourth addition to the family of scientific journals hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association. She continues to present her research at international and national scientific meetings and belongs to several intercontinental and domestic scientific
committees and professional groups. Overall, Dr. Glover dedicates her work to eradicating health disparities and facilitating health equity - globally, nationally, and locally.
